Hey guys. It has certainly been a while. Sorry about that. Lots of stuff happened in the past few months but I am not here to talk about that now. It's all in the past. Anyways there are going to be major changes in my blog from now on. This is going to be a personal online journal for me. All my stories, fiction and non fictional, will be moved to another blog. That blog is mainly for my write ups. It's called A.M.A Writes . Click on the name to be directed there
Now that that has been said, back to my story. So I have started my internship, you know, 400level things and all. I got this place at Ikeja where I have been learning quite some things. My first day was, well, weird kind of but that's story for another day.
Today though, I was heading to work as usual after my dad dropped me off at the Ikeja along bus-stop. I had climbed the pedestrian bridge and crossed the railway tracks. For y'all who have been to Ikeja via Ikeja along you know how it goes on a week day, crowds rushing to get to work. Everyone moving so fast with no sign of slowing down .
It was here that this woman decided to ask me for directions to Johnson Estate at Ikeja. I told her I didn't know and kept on walking. She found another guy to ask (or so it seemed) and I was relieved. Only to see the guy walking beside me asking if the woman told me where she was going. I answered him as I continued walking then I got to a junction and I had to wait.
The woman had somehow gotten to that junction too. I was wondering why she was following me while being conscious of the knapsack on my back. That knapsack had my laptop, my phones, my purse and a bunch of other important stuff. Guarding it was my priority so that they wouldn't slash it open and take the things in it.
I told her to ask the man where she was going. She started mentioning something about giving I and the guy goods to sell for $200. I was about to turn her down and walk away. At that moment one of the instructors in the institute where I am doing my internship walked past and called my name. He asked me what was going on and I told him. The woman then quickly said she was heading to Iyanapaja(not what she told me before) and needed direction to which he then told the woman the direction where the buses that went to Iyanapaja were loading.
At that, she said okay and was suddenly in a hurry to leave, most likely realising that she had been discovered as a thief as I later found out. I was more than relieved and I started walking to the office. When I got there, I met the instructor. It was there he told me that he had been watching those two people; the man giving directions and the supposedly lost woman and that they were acting funny. He suspected that they were thieves who used hypnotism to steal from their victims. So when he saw me with them, he called me.
Long story cut short, that was how I was saved from being hypnotized and my things being stolen. I should have noticed and been alert but I didn't know what happened to me today. I usually don't even answer strangers when I am walking in unfamiliar territory. It seems all too surreal when I remember it. I was lucky though. God was on the lookout for me. I am totally grateful for that.
So people that was how my rescue went. Don't forget to drop you comments in the box below. Till next time. Toodles!
