My life on Campus. (3)

Hey guys! Its a new session and i'm back to school. I am so not excited to be back in school but wetin man go do? Been in school now for the just two weeks and I wanna go back home already. Nothing has really changed except the fact that they've repaired the flushing systems of some of the toilets that had gone bad. They also replaced some broken tiles with new ones. The bathrooms are still always water logged though and still stink which is why i said nothing has really changed.
In the rooms, new locks were on the lockers and the carpentry work was so badly done that if one locker was locked it was impossible to open the twin locker so they had to get carpenters to fix it. They also did some minor electrical repairs but as usual it had comma with it. Which explains why every time you usually hear the announcement "Mens are around" by the porters. Its so bad that even my roommate teased one of the porters concerning it. She asked the porters why they wouldn't just give the men a room in our hostel since they are regular visitors here.
Speaking of roommates, we are currently 4 in a room. I have had no issues with the for the past few weeks I've been here so i assumed they are cool people. I'm the only 400l student which is cool cos they give me that "respect" as their senior but I'm not bossy which explains why they relate with me well.
One major difference with things this semester is that the gate has been locked. You cant leave the school premises without an exeat. Which means no going outside to get food. Most of the food joints outside now have a branch inside at the extreme end of the school. When i mean the extreme end i am not joking. It could take a 20minute leisure walk just to get what you would have in your belly especially at night and its not easy considering that you may end up hating what is being sold for that day. The option of eating illegal hostel-prepared noodles is also out too cos you'd have to get the noodles outside the gate which is locked (Yikes! I know.)
Going out is such a formality now compared to those times you just walked to the gate, told the security man you wanted to get food and once you are out you can go anywhere you liked provided you came back that same day. Its so formal now that you would need an exe at to get something just across the gate (how silly is that?) It would have been bearable if It had always been like this from the beginning like in schools like CU but it hasn't always been like this. How did it get to this?
Word on campus is that the parents' association instigated the locking of the gate. They said they wanted to "curb" consumption of drugs by the students. Its really sad that some parents refused to train their kids at home while they were younger and expect the school to do it for them. Now other innocent ones are being locked in like prisoners 'cause of their carelessness. Well its just for a short while. I've got a year and half to stay in this school. By next semester i'd be back at home for my Industrial Training. And after that it would be my final year. (Yay!) Till then I'd be praying for forbearance to be able to enjoy my remaining stay here and Y'all could be praying for me too. :]Y
