And the door made a fool outta someone. =
zHey guys.. Its a Saturday. Hope y'all had fun. The fun still continues though. Its still the weekend babies so flex on. I had fun today. I went to a convention at Ota. And opposite the venue there was this Justrite super market. So I and my friends went there to get some goodies while on our way back to school.
I had gotten my own stuff and was waiting with Precious, one of the guys I came with when we saw this bros o. He was walking into the gate of the supermarket feeling so good and fly with himself like he had the whole world at his feet. After dropping his bag in one on the lockers provided, he locked it and took his key still bouncing and feeling so good with himself.
When he got to the door, he failed to realised that the doors were now sensor activated. Let me explain further for those who might still be confused about what that means. It means that there were sensors that were on the panels close to the doors that recognise when a person is coming and the door automatically opens and when the person has gotten in the door closes.
This guy got to the door and since his brain was so used to the system of pulling the door with his whole might, he tugged at the door without realising the door was already open. By the time he realised the door was open he looked so comical and was really embarrassed and people who saw it were amused. Anyways he went in anyways to get what he wanted, wetin e wan do before?
I was at one corner watching it and I had the good graces to avoid laughing while he was still outside in that embarrassing situation but the moment he had gotten in. I looked at Precious and he had seen what I saw too and at the same time we both started laughing. It was so funny that I was laughing so hard that I almost started choking. Later on, Precious was like "why did we have to be the ones to see that guy fumble?" Which is quite true 'cause once we are both together and we start laughing its difficult to stop. And we had a similar sense of humor so the almost the same things amuse us. So we kept laughing and laughing. The staff stationed at the door couldn't help but smile since they noticed what had happened too. It was like watching one of those funny videos comedians post on IG.
Its really such a pity that I wasn't fast enough to catch it on camera. E pain me o. Who knows I might have been able to make one of those funny pictures that go viral. Well its all gone now. Next time I'll make sure to have my camera or my phone ready to capture some stupid and funny mistakes people make. But I'm not a saddist o before some people will start talking now( we all know how we Nigerians are). I don't enjoy people's misery. I had already gotten frustrated and annoyed at waiting for the other people so that event provided an avenue to release the tension pent up in me by laughing and it was a good one 'cause after then I wasn't so cranky like i was out of waiting for a long while.
We are talk imperfect but at least we go use that one make ourselves dey laugh small cos this life no easy abi na lie? Any funny events of the day you wanna share with me? Let me know through your comments. Those comment boxes aren't there for fancy people so please make use of them.
Toodles!! And Goodnight. Have a good night rest. XoXo :

A Valentine Fiasco.
Y'all probably remember a post of mine where I asked for your help on reading my published story by clicking on a lick but unfortunately I didn't win. Well that's over with. Its their loss. Anyways I'm publishing the story here for you to read in case you didn't read it then. You can use the link under to tell me if was interesting or not. Here it goes:
"GRRRR!" "Grrrr!" "Grrrr!!" The alarm rang. It was nine in the morning. Cynthia had heard it ring and she wished she didn't; she just wanted to cover her ears with the pillow to block to the constant ringing. The alarm ringing reminded her of what today was and she didn't want to remember. If it was a regular alarm clock she would have flung it across the room but it was her mobile phone so she couldn't dare. She couldn't stay in bed either because she was already awake and there was no point tossing and turning on the bed.. So she grudgingly got up, stopped the alarm and went to wash up. On her way to the bathroom a bright red mark on the calendar in the veranda attracted her attention so she went to see what it was. When she finally realized it was a reminder on her calendar that today was the fourteenth, she hissed. Everything in her damned house had to remind her it was Valentines day. Valentines day was highly overrated in her opinion. In fact, love was a hoax to her. If she had a choice, she wouldn't leave the confines of her home today to go anywhere. The thought of seeing all those love birds on the street with in their red heart outfits being all cute and lovey-dovey annoyed her. Valentine's day in a way just reminded her of her painful break-up a few months back but she didn't want to remember. She snapped out of her thoughts and continued heading towards the bathroom. She had to get ready in order for her to be able to buy her groceries today or she was going to be eating out till the next time she could shop.
After having her shower, she made sure to put on an outfit without a hint of red. She didn't want to look like she was celebrating Val's day because she was not. She looked in to her wardrobe for a dress and decided on a sleeveless black A-line dress with a denim jacket. She put them on and slipped on a pair of sneakers. In no time she was out of the house with her purse and went to her car. The Camry refused to start. After a few tries and tinkering with the engine with the little knowledge she had about cars, she closed the bonnet and locked her car. She was not about to start panicking. She had a lot of things to do today and she couldn't begin her day by getting frustrated. She brought out her phone from her purse and began scrolling through her phone contacts to check for a cab driver's number. She knew she should have one or two of their numbers, so she kept scrolling. Aha! She found it. She dialled his number and they made arrangements for him to come and pick her up in the next ten minutes so she waited for him in the lobby.
Finally he came and they left. After a long car ride, he dropped her at the mall and she paid him her fare. She proceeded to do her shopping. In an hour or so, she was done. She paid for the goods and left the mall with her bags. It took her quite a while before she found a taxi which she stopped to get in. She asked for the direction in which the cab was going, it was along her route so she got in. When she got in, she realized another person was in the cab. She didn't fancy sharing cabs with strangers but she did not want to stand outside waiting for long. Besides, the person was not complaining. So she settled in and closed the door. The cab started moving and when she had made herself comfortable she noticed the guy in the car examining her with close scrutiny. Then as if a light bulb lit in his head, he exclaimed, "Cynthia David is this you?" Cynthia was still trying to place the face. It was obvious this guy knew her and he knew her well because she had changed a lot from her school days and only someone who knew her well would know her despite all the changes. Then finally it clicked. He was her mortal enemy in high school. John Martins. He was always making her life miserable in class from flicking paper balls at the back of her head to the various pranks he played on her.
The last straw was when she realised he was the one replying all her love notes to Tito, a crush of hers then. In one of the responses she received it was said that Tito liked her too and he wanted to go on a date with her at a hangout lots of their school mates meet. So she dress up all pretty that day, put on lip gloss to have a feel of using make up because her mum would not let her use full make up and went there gingerly feeling very excited. When she got there, Tito was there alright but he didn't seem to be waiting for her as she thought. She thought he was just putting a show and decided to walk up to him and "reminded" him about their "supposed" date. Needless to say, the outcome was embarassing and at the corner she could see John laughing so hard, obviously having the time of his life from the showdown of her public embarassment. She didn't need any writing on the wall to know that he was the brain behind this and it was the last straw for him. She was going to deal with him. So the series of pranks and paybacks began and till they graduated they remained enemies. It was this John of all people she had to share a taxi with. Val's just got more annoying. Since she was stuck with him here for the next hour or so she decide to made to make good use of it.
"Yes it is me John. You do seem to have shrunk in size, haven't you? You also look a lot older and uglier than you were in high school." She replied. John knew she was trying to spite him so he ignored the last two comments and said, "So you remembered me. That's nice." She felt a bit annoyed that he would try to play the nice guy. "How could I ever forget you? You made my high school days a nightmare remember?" At that John sincerely apologise for his errant behaviour those days but she wouldn't have any of it. He said it was because he liked her and was just vying for her attention but she couldn't believe it. She called hik all sorts of names refusing to accept his apology while he was trying to apologise. They kept on arguing and arguing that they didn't even notice when the cab driver had started taking a route different from the one that lead to their destination. When they finally noticed, they were along a bushy road with a lot of trees. It looked very spooky and it was not at all the route to their destination so they mentioned it to the driver thinking he had made a wrong turn. Rather than reverse and take the "GRRRR!" "Grrrr!" "Grrrr!!" The alarm rang. It was nine in the morning. Cynthia had heard it ring and she wished she didn't; she just wanted to cover her ears with the pillow to block to the constant ringing. Rather than reverse and take the correct route, he increased his speed and yelled at them to shut up then locked the doors of the car.
That was when they realised they were in danger. Cynthia kept screaming and screaming. She kept shouting that she didn't want to die. On the other side of the car, John was totally confused and very quiet. Then he noticed Cynthia's purse. It had a detachable leather strap so he just took the purse from her and detached it. At that moment, she stopped screaming. So as not to give the cab driver a reason to suspect that they were up to anything, he signalled to her to keep screaming so as to keep the driver distracted which somehow she agreed to despite the fact that they were at loggerheads just a few minutes ago. So while she was screaming, the driver kept yelling at her to shut up and he paid no attention to John. Then John quickly swung the strap over his neck and kept pulling at it till the driver became weak and breathless. Meanwhile, Cynthia managed to pull the hand brake so that they didn't crash. With the driver being rendered almost unconscious by th cutting off of his oxygen supply, they shoved him out of the car, roughed him up a bit by John giving him a lot of blows, then tied him up and put him in the back seat of the cab. They reversed and looked for a way out of the spooky route he had taken. When they got to the main freeway the went to a police station to report the incident. The guy was placed in custody after they both wrote their statements. Soon enough they left the police station.
"We make a pretty good team" John said while they were waiting for a cab in front of the police station with her groceries. "Yea we do." She agreed. She suggested they exchanged digits which was totally unexpected by John which they did. Then he decided to push his luck further. He asked if they could meet up for dinner later to which she said she would let him know if she was up to it. A cab finally came and when she got in, she said a silent prayer for safety. On her way home, she thought about the events of the day. Maybe Valentine's day wasn't so bad. Maybe John was not as evil as she saw him. She was willing to give him a chance so she sent him a text saying "Yes i'd love to have dinner with u. So when you have all the details let me know". With that she focused on the road ahead eagerly waiting to get home.
-The End.
Someone asked me to make a series of it. Should I? Let me know in your comments below. Toodles!!
Fashion Friday (2)- Jumpsuits
Hey guys. I'm trying to keep my posts regular. Hope I'm doing good job of it. School this week has been quite slow but some days were fun. Few lectures and even fewer assignments but back to business. Today, I'm presenting jumpsuits; Ankara jumpsuits to you. Most of us know what Jumpsuits are. In fact, most of us have at least a jumpsuit in our closet but for those who don't know what jumpsuits are, I'd explain so brighten up those dazed faces. Michelle's got ya back. I would like to believe every one of us knows what a jumpsuit is though.
Anyways, jumpsuits are one piece outfits with legs and could be with or without sleeves and are a relatively easy, comfortable piece of clothing to wear. They are versatile outfits which can be worn to a casual outing such as a movie, a dinner, or even to work when you pair it with a matching corporate blazer. This post however is showcasing Ankara Jumpsuits which can be beautiful if sewn well. So feel free to use the ideas presented here and you can tag me @Mhiz_adaorable on IG when you take a picture of you rocking your jumpsuit fashioned after these styles. Also which of them is your favorite? Let me know through your comments.
Toodles!!! Xoxo.

My life on Campus. (3)
In the rooms, new locks were on the lockers and the carpentry work was so badly done that if one locker was locked it was impossible to open the twin locker so they had to get carpenters to fix it. They also did some minor electrical repairs but as usual it had comma with it. Which explains why every time you usually hear the announcement "Mens are around" by the porters. Its so bad that even my roommate teased one of the porters concerning it. She asked the porters why they wouldn't just give the men a room in our hostel since they are regular visitors here.
Speaking of roommates, we are currently 4 in a room. I have had no issues with the for the past few weeks I've been here so i assumed they are cool people. I'm the only 400l student which is cool cos they give me that "respect" as their senior but I'm not bossy which explains why they relate with me well.
One major difference with things this semester is that the gate has been locked. You cant leave the school premises without an exeat. Which means no going outside to get food. Most of the food joints outside now have a branch inside at the extreme end of the school. When i mean the extreme end i am not joking. It could take a 20minute leisure walk just to get what you would have in your belly especially at night and its not easy considering that you may end up hating what is being sold for that day. The option of eating illegal hostel-prepared noodles is also out too cos you'd have to get the noodles outside the gate which is locked (Yikes! I know.)
Going out is such a formality now compared to those times you just walked to the gate, told the security man you wanted to get food and once you are out you can go anywhere you liked provided you came back that same day. Its so formal now that you would need an exe at to get something just across the gate (how silly is that?) It would have been bearable if It had always been like this from the beginning like in schools like CU but it hasn't always been like this. How did it get to this?
Word on campus is that the parents' association instigated the locking of the gate. They said they wanted to "curb" consumption of drugs by the students. Its really sad that some parents refused to train their kids at home while they were younger and expect the school to do it for them. Now other innocent ones are being locked in like prisoners 'cause of their carelessness. Well its just for a short while. I've got a year and half to stay in this school. By next semester i'd be back at home for my Industrial Training. And after that it would be my final year. (Yay!) Till then I'd be praying for forbearance to be able to enjoy my remaining stay here and Y'all could be praying for me too. :]Y

My life on Campus (4)
The Blackout.
This happened a while back.
I was resuming to the hostel early enough like the good student I was so that I could settle down before lectures would begin. The day I resumed was on a Sunday and they made a stupid rule that I had to get my hotel clearance that same day. It seemed like a fairly easy thing to do until i got to the bursary and saw the queue there. Fortunately my mum was around(yes I am a "mummy's" girl) and she went in to try to get it for me. Unfortunately, I was owing as shown on my statement of my account(long story) and because of that she couldn't get it. So long story cut short I went back home and decided to come the next day.
Prior to my resumption there were rumors going about that the generator powering the school got burnt and hence we would be relying solely on PHCN for power supply. That was a bit discouraging because we all know how PHCN functions. When they were still called NEPA I used to refer to them as "Never Expect Power Always". Nevertheless, I didn't take the issue seriously because students tend to exaggerate a lot and I thought that this was one of those times.
So I came back the next day, sorted things out and off I was to my hostel to eventually settle down. There was no light throughout out the period I got into the hostel and thinking it was a minor thing and that the light would come on at night, I didn't think anything of it. I just went about catching up with my friend with no worries.
Night time came. There was still no light. My enthusiasm that the light was eventually going to come was waning. I proceeded to get food, had my dinner and got prepared for bed. I decided to sleep in my friend's room because there was no light and I was the only one who had resumed for the semester as at then. So I went to sleep, feeling all hot and sweaty. In fact, what happened that night was one of the most unpleasant things that ever happened to me.
Dawn broke. The situation remained the same. That was when I finally realised immensely the magnitude of the issue. To have my bath I had to get water from the taps outside because there was no water inside. Also I couldn't boil my bathing water. The light eventually came, that evening. I learnt how to boil water when the light finally came and store it in my flask. The first week was hell; water wasn't running upstairs on my floor, I had to fetch water up the stairs, the heat was unbearable, mosquitoes were abundant, the pungent smell of the toilets and bathrooms was a pain in the butt, my phones got dead very often; life during that period of time was so intolerable. It is no wonder that my immune system broke down and I went home to build it up and came back about 3weeks later.
Fortunately, the light is back to normal now; they finally got a new generator (although there are still power outages but they don't lead to blackout). I have access to water upstairs (when the porters remember to pump the water), mosquitoes have reduced a bit because the bathrooms are cleaner and the heat is not so unbearable now. Now life in the dorms are more tolerable and attending lectures is now easier. I just hope things continue this way.

My life on campus (2)
At home, I have easy access to hot water. Therefore, I always use hot water to have my bath. That is why this experience is one of my unforgettable experiences.
The next day after I resumed school, the water heater stopped functioning. I woke up that day ready to explore my new surroundings. When I got to the bathroom, I turned the tap on, expecting to get hot water, only to have my bucket filled up with cold water. I did not bring a kettle along from home because I was told that hot water facilities were available. So I stood in the cubicle wondering how I was going to have my bath with cold water on that cold morning.
Toughening up, I took the first scoop close my eyes and poured it. I literally screamed when the water came down on me. It came as such a great shock that I didn't even realise when I screamed. A girl noticed that I was struggling with the temperature of the water and she smiled to me and said "Don't worry. It gets better with each splash."
Given that slight encouragement and hoping she was right, I took the next scoop and splashed the water with such briskness, washed up very fast, dried my body with a towel and walked hurriedly back to my room. The girl was right. It did get better with every splash but I didnt enjoy the experience.
The highlight of that day, however, turned out to be my meeting with a new roommate who I became very good friends with and I am still friends with. Who would have thought anything good would have happened that day, when the day started out quite roughly?
Of you enjoyed this please visit this link and read the writeup there. Thank you in advance.

WCW (2) - Kome Osalor
Hey guys. It has certainly been a while and i'm sorry for the inconsistency. I promise to make it up to you with today's post. Get ready to be wowed. So today's a Wednesday and we're gonna have a woman crush Wednesday. Today's woman crush Wednesday for today is Kome Osalor. She's an on air personality that hosts the show 'Personality Places and Events' that airs on AIT by 4:30pm. She's also an entrepreneur who's the CEO of Kome's hair rave.
That one aside, she's a fashion lover which explains why she's my woman crush Wednesday today because I am not into the show hosting business as y'all might probably know; still an IT student. Anyways, as I was saying, from her native to ready made outfits to her casual looks she always looks fab every time. Her IG page's like my go-to catalogue if I need to find a style for my Ankara and lace materials. I have decide to select some of my favorite looks from her IG page and post it here. Feed your eyes and don't forget to tell me which is your favorite through your comments. Toodles! XoXo

My life on campus (1)
This is the first in the series. It is a story about students and what goes on in the dorms. I hope you enjoy it.
My first day in the hostel.
All my life I attended school as a day student and I have never been in a hostel before. At home, I have my own room, a whole wardrobe for my stuff(not just a part of it) and I don't have to share with anyone except when we had visitors of course which was not a regular occurrence. So the prospect of sharing a room with different, unknown people from various backgrounds for a duration of at least three months was a bit frightening to me.
The day I resumed, after paying the necessary fees, I went to the office to be assigned accommodation with my parents albeit a feeling of slight trepidation. On getting into the hostel I signed in and moved my things to my room. I was officially on my own in a world I knew nothing about. At that point in time, I did feel like running towards my parents to plead with them to take me back home. Knowing what their response would be, I toughened up and stayed back.
When the initial bout of homesickness calmed down, I scanned the room and chose my bed. After the meeting my new roommates- 3 of them; some friendly, others indifferent, I then settled down to the task of stuffing about 3 months of supplies- clothes, provisions, shoes and other miscellaneous items into a tiny shelf with 3 layers called "the wardrobe". Considering the size of the wardrobe( I like to call it a locker), it was impossible for everything to fit in so I had to leave the remaining items in my suitcase.
With the luggage out of the way, I made my bed and set out to freshen up with my bucket and toiletries. I had to carry a bucket to the bathroom which was not a normal thing for me during my pre-hostel days (at home) so it was a bit strange for me at the beginning.
Lo and behold, when I got to d bathroom (about 15-20 steps away depending on the length of your strides), I saw that the bathroom had 2 rows of about 7 cubicles on each side with no doors. "What happened to the doors?" I silently asked myself. Those already use to the system were busy having their baths oblivious to the fact that everyone could see them. After getting over the initial shock and discomfort, braced up and had my bath then settled in for the night, having a slight dread of what the next day had in store for me.
What was your first day in the hostel like? Your comments are highly welcome.
Secondary virgin? Are you serious?
According to them a secondary virgin is someone who has decided to abstain from sex until marriage. It seems like there's a point i'm not getting here. Please, am I missing something here?
Usually, a virgin according to a dictionary is someone who hasn't had sexual intercourse at all or someone who hasn't had any form of sexual activity at all. So people please which one is secondary virgin kwa? People and their play on words tho'.
We Africans should really learn tostop beating around the bush and call a spade a spade. The subtle play on words to dilute their meaning should be left for those westerners with their ridiculousness.

Michelle Obama Lambasted for Calling Beyonce a Role Model-The other side of the coin.
Anyways back to the matter at hand. If u read some of the tweets that showed the people lambasting the first lady of the world for calling Bey a role model you would see that those people are quite biased. Now Bey nay not be the classical example of a role model but she's one of the few celebrities i know who has her shit together. A lot of other celebrities could learn a lesson or two from her. I hardly hear anything crazy about her in the gossip columns(and believe me i know a lot of them). Her marriage seems(note i said seems) to be going strong. She has a kid who she adores and seems to be growing up normally. Her work is a different aspect of her life and her home is also a different part. She's not releasing raunchy photos of herself for fun like some other people in the industry.. I didn't mention names o.
Also, just because she dances on stage, sometimes it gets a bit appalling doesn't totally mean that that's the way her whole life runs. It's just like saying a person who usually acts the character of a thief in a movie is a thief in real life or someone who rights erotica novels is a sex addict. That would be tantamount to a fallacy; fallacy of hasty generalization. Its their job. Stop hating on someone for doing their job. No one criticizes anyone for taking out garbage as a means of earning a living saying "its disgusting", do they? Or does anyone complain when you carry out your job of wiping old people's messes in homes for the elderly to pay your rent? So give her a break.
So if The lady of the white house calls Beyonce a role model let's live it at that. Lets not forget this is the first lady of the white house and she is one smart woman. Also everyone has a freedom of speech so stop hating people. She may not be your role model but she matters a lot to people back in her home town and i think y'all should respect that.
And abeg o she's not my family member neither is she my townswoman nor is she paying me for this because that's what i'm expecting in response to this post. I am just viewing it from the other side of the coin which most of us usually fail to do. Think about it..
Later Guys.. XOXO

My woman crush Wednesday today is my mum. It's not mother's day so don't panic. You didn't forget to wish your mum happy mothers day. But do we always have to wait till mothers day before we appreciate our mothers? Yea I didn't think so too. So as I was saying, she is my woman crush Wednesday. My mum is like the strongest woman i have known. Lol. who wouldn't say that about their mum? But on a more serious note my mum has gone through a lot and she still remains the same smiling loving mum she has always been even when I am being a regular frustrating teen.
She stopped her full time job to take care of her kids and give them her full attention towards the peak of her career when it became difficult to balance her work and house hold duties. Some women would have chosen their career over their home. But she stayed with us, giving us her time, coaching us teaching us values that would mold and shape our lives.
Her work usually went unnoticed by me in particular until one day i had to stay at home and fill in her shoes for virtually that whole day. She had matters to attend to so i had to clean cook and co ordinate my younger ones. By the time I was done cooking while on my feet for almost 4hrs, I was exhausted and that was not the end. I had to clean up and by the end of the day i realized how much my mum worked and i didn't notice. I decided i was going to commend her. I think that made her day and I was glad it did.
It's not easy having had four kids and losing one to an illness and still having the courage to move on an press on without being bitter. Yet my mum does all that and a lot more. She's the best mum in the world and i pray God keeps her alive for me so that i can be able to repay her in kind.
